The TWSBI Diamond 580 is the 21st Century interpretation of a classic writing instrument. The TWSBI Diamond 580 excels with a transparent resin construction that can be disassembled using the included wrench. The Diamond 580 represents the fusion of a traditional fountain pen with a modern industrial design. The result is an eye-catching writing instrument that is simultaneously appreciative of the past and relevant in the present. The modern writer can appreciate the stainless steel nib's smooth writing quality, the high volume ink capacity, and the ability to take good care of their pen. The Diamond 580ALR has an aluminum grip section and piston rod to add substantial style to this fountain pen. The matte grip section and cap top ring feature concentric, ringed engravings. The internal piston-filling mechanism holds about 2 ml of ink and can be completely taken apart for thorough cleaning. Instructions and silicone grease are also included to aid in the maintenance of the pen.
With a history of more than 40 years of manufacturing, including producing high-end pens for other brands, Ta Shin Precision decided to start selling under their own brand, TWSBI. The name TWSBI is made up from TWS and BI. ‘TWS’ is the reversed initials of the phrase ‘San Wen Tong’, translated Hall of Three Cultures, and ‘BI’ literally means writing instrument.

This is my third Vanishing Point—and there's something undeniably charismatic about this fountain pen from Pilot. I had previously tried the fine and medium nibs, but as they say, third time’s the charm. The broad nib, in particular, is one of the best I’ve ever used—smooth, expressive, and an absolute joy to write with. Easily one of the best purchases in my fountain pen journey so far.
My only regret? Not choosing the broad nib sooner.
Great bright, water proof ink. Brightest blue ever. Bleeding is minimal, you can use regular 70gsm paper if using with a fine (European) or medium (Asian) nib. Only a light shade visible on the other side of the paper. Feathering is zero.

My handwriting is small, so I prefer extra fine nibs. With the Sailor, I was struggling to find extra fine in this budget. Immediately ordered when I saw it here. The pen is feather-lite, nib is super fine and ink flow is like butter smooth. Feedback is also really good that you feel like keep writing and go on and on!
