Colors include Pink, Orange, Prairie Green, Emerald Green, Sky Blue, and Royal Purple. The series name 1791 comes from a famous book written in 1791 in China, called "The Dreams of the Red Chamber". TWSBI picked names for each of these inks in Chinese from this book. In English, the names just describe the color of the ink, however, in Chinese, it comes from 6 famous buildings described in this book.
With a history of more than 40 years of manufacturing, including producing high-end pens for other brands, Ta Shin Precision decided to start selling under their own brand, TWSBI. The name TWSBI is made up from TWS and BI. ‘TWS’ is the reversed initials of the phrase ‘San Wen Tong’, translated Hall of Three Cultures, and ‘BI’ literally means writing instrument.
