Platinum Preppy Fountain Pen (Blue/Black)

I am writing this review after about a month of daily use. Thanks, onlinemantra.in, for the timely delivery and prompt support. Pros: Medium nib (my personal preference) is good for writing on any quality of paper; tough build quality (dropped a couple of times); lock mechanism does not dry out the nib. Cons: Few times ink flow stops abruptly. Don't be fooled by cheaper options; this Platinum brand pen is worth the price. Blue/Black in the description is the ink colour.

The product is as mentioned in the description. The only reason for giving 5* is because, "onlinemantra" is not the manufacturer.
Did not expect this from a Japanese manufacture.
Parker fountain with 0.5 is way better and way smoother. This is a 0.2mm nib pen but writing looks like you are using 0.6 or 0.7.
And the ink is lighter than Ujala blue. But the absorption on paper is quick.

The shape of the pen is good, and so is the thickness. But the barrel screw and hard push needed to close the pen will remind you every time that it is a cheap plastic pen with a very nice and smooth nib section, common to other higher priced models. I have now bought and tested both the 03 fine and 05 medium versions. Both are smooth. It does not come with an ink filling converter, which costs double the price of the pen. So I cleaned and injected other ink. It works but for 400 Rs pen thats a lots of hassle. I am not going to purchase another one. If I do I will get the metal version and a converter or stick to my Lamy.
