The Sailor Hocoro Dip Pen Feed is meant to be used as an add-on to the Hocoro Dip Pen and Nibs. This special feed has a unique design, created by Sailor to supply larger amounts of ink to the dip pen while also remaining easy to clean between different inks. To install the feed onto the nib, simply snap it into place behind the steel nib. The feed was designed to have a protrusion that fits perfectly into the heart-shaped breather hole of the nib. In order to preserve the dip pen's ability to be easily cleaned by a rinse in water, a wider space than usual was introduced between the feed and the back surface of the nib, reducing the contact and thus making the nib very easy to clean.
